In 1993, Wu-Tang Clan asserted “Cash rules everything around me.” Nearly twenty-five years on, it certainly seems that that’s not the case anymore.

How often do you use cash? Many of us are using cash less and less, discarding it as an inconvenience when one card will do.

Perhaps a better question is: How often do you need cash? In metropolitan areas it’s pretty rare to find a business that can’t accept card transactions. In Australia, as many as 75% of face-to-face transactions are done without physical money, and that’s not even factoring the enormous amounts of shopping we do online.
